Canada

Internship & Co-op Opportunities

What many don’t realize is how big our Co-op & Internship program is here in Canada! In a given year, we hire hundreds of students into our many businesses across the country, in opportunities that span multiple functions such as Engineering, Finance, and Computing – just to name a few. We offer 4, 8, 12, or 16 month placements that typically begin in January, May, or September – with recruitment activity beginning on average four months prior to the start of the actual work term, so be sure to look for open opportunities will in advance.

It goes without saying that having GE Co-op or Internship experience on your resume is definitely advantageous if you’d like to explore full-time opportunities with us, upon graduation. That being said, we really do task the students we hire to perform actual meaningful work during their limited time with us, so the experience you gain will benefit you no matter where your future may take you.

Leadership Programs

We’re proud to host an array of Leadership Programs here in Canada. We are most active on campus in September and October when recruitment for our full-time graduate Leadership Programs typically take place. China

In China, GE offers internship and full-time graduate opportunities at undergraduate, masters and doctorate levels for our multiple businesses across various locations throughout the country. Our structured intern programs provide on-the-job experience, while also helping to develop your soft skills, while assisting in your professional development via workshops, networking sessions, and exposure to business leaders. Excelling in your internship will put you on the fast track to our full time leadership programs. We are most active on campus in March and April when recruiting for our summer interns for the full-time graduate Leadership Programs and deliver intern offers in May and June so that outstanding candidates can start their internships during summer.

GE China offers internships primarily in summer but from 2016 will also allow spring, fall and winter internships. Their leadership program employees are primarily hired from this internship pool. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our programs after graduation in different functions such as Finance, IT, Engineering, Commercial, Operations Management, etc.

We actively visit university campuses across China through events such as GE China CEO Forum, GE Campus Talk, GE Site Open Day, bringing with us senior leaders, current leadership program members, and leadership program alumni, to interact and speak with students about the opportunities that will fit them best for a successful career in GE. The GE China University Team works very closely with 12 executive universities and have recently launched the first GE-Campus Innovation Club in Shanghai, Jiaotong University in 2014 which offers students further access to GE Culture, Success Model and Beliefs.

Europe

GE in Europe is present across 30 countries and focuses significantly on building the next generation of leaders through our strong internship programs. We hire for our global leadership programs as well as for direct hire opportunities from this pipeline. GE is active on university campuses especially in October but in many countries even twice a year, i.e. October and June. We partner with various universities to build our presence and to identify and bring in the best talent.

GE Japan focuses on hiring the best talent across various universities in the region. We have a strong internship program in the Financial Management Program and in GE Healthcare. We start our hiring in the spring of each year to host interns in the summer (August through September) or spring (January through March) of each year. We hire for our global leadership programs as well as for our direct-hire opportunities across our businesses. MENAT

Hiring on Campus

GE MENAT visits multiple MBA and engineering campuses to hire the best of minds studying in these universities. These visits also provide a great platform for the students to understand how their long term career aspirations can be fulfilled by being part of the GE family.

GE visits select university campuses across Middle East, North Africa &Turkey to attract the best talent for suitable positions. On-campus recruiting events are an essential part of GE’s hiring process. The recruitment process starts with GE sharing specific profiles directly with the Campus Career Services Team or by arranging on campus hiring campaigns. We shortlist the profiles as per our eligibility criteria, conduct Group Discussions and Aptitude Test (specific for Engineering campuses only), followed by interviews by an experienced panel of GE leaders.

While the whole process helps us to find out more about you as a person and about your achievements, the interviews give us the best opportunity to evaluate your candidature. They also help you discover more GE and our culture.

GE hosts and sponsors many events across universities/business schools in MENAT. This is an opportunity for students to interact with Senior GE Leaders and know the company better. GE proactively reaches out to institutes that we wish to collaborate with.

In MENAT we have active recruiting marketing and university recruiting campus teams that manage a lively rhythm of interactive activities throughout the year.

We engage with the universities and business schools by having GE days, on-campus recruitment activities, awareness and networking sessions, job shadowing and opportunities to meet our leaders. We also are involved in diversity event focusing on encouraging women into the GE family. We were awarded the best recruitment activities on campus in the Middle East by Universum after a survey went out to select universities in the region. Russia

In Russia/CIS countries we have great opportunities for University students through our New GEneration Internship Program, fresh graduates can be part of our world-renowned Leadership Programs, and full-time positions in various businesses across locations.

Recruiting Information

The name GE is synonymous with leadership, growth and development; thus, great importance is placed on our regional and global leadership programs. Africa’s rise and economic growth makes this the most exciting continent to be in with numerous opportunities. The opportunities we have range from internships, to the Early Career Development Program and entry level Corporate Leadership Programs, to full-time roles in many locations. Early Identification Internship (EID)

We invite students from recognized universities to join us for internships during school breaks to gain valuable work experience and learn more about about GE culture and beliefs. EID Internship is the first step to a long career in GE and to entering into our Regional Programs such as Early Career Development Program (ECDP), Graduate Engineering Training Program (GETP) and Finance Management Program (FMP).

United States

In the USA, we have opportunities for internships, co-ops, and for full-time positions in many locations and in many areas of interest. We are most active on campus in September and October for all of our start dates in the following year.
